  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These sautéed mushrooms are savory, buttery, and bursting with flavor! A quick and easy side dish that comes together in just 30 minutes, perfect alongside steak, chicken, or pasta. Aromatic herbs, garlic, and a splash of wine make them irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

  • 1 pound mushrooms, sliced (cremini, button, or a mix)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme

  • ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 3 tablespoons white wine OR broth

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (or soy sauce for vegetarian)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Cook mushrooms: Heat oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, until softened.

  • Add aromatics: Lower heat to medium. Add garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.

  • Deglaze: Pour in white wine or broth. Cook for another 3–5 minutes until the liquid mostly evaporates and mushrooms are tender. Stir in Worcestershire sauce.

  • Finish: Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and fresh parsley. Stir until glossy. Serve hot

Notes

Ingredient notes

Mushrooms: Cremini, button, or a mix of both.

Oil & butter: Both are used for rich flavor and proper browning.

White wine: Use a dry wine like Sauvignon Blanc or substitute broth.

Worcestershire sauce: Soy sauce can be used for a vegetarian version.

Recipe tips

Don’t overcrowd the pan to allow mushrooms to brown, not steam.

Let mushrooms sit undisturbed for a golden sear.

Season early to draw out moisture.

Double the amount if using fresh herbs instead of dried.

Storage tips

Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container for up to 1 day.

Reheat: Warm in a skillet with a splash of broth or butter until hot (165°F).
