Description

These buttery, melt-in-your-mouth jam cookies are an irresistible treat! With a soft, shortbread-like texture and a sweet, fruity jam center, these cookies are perfect for holiday baking, afternoon tea, or anytime you want a little indulgence. The combination of rich flavor and a touch of sweetness will have everyone coming back for more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam (strawberry, raspberry, or your favorite flavor)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Using your thumb or the back of a spoon, gently press down in the center of each ball to create a small indentation.
  • Spoon about 1/2 tsp of your favorite fruit jam into each indentation.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Once the cookies are completely cool, dust with powdered sugar for a little extra sweetness.

Notes

  • You can use any jam flavor you like—raspberry, strawberry, apricot, or even orange marmalade!
  • If you don’t have a thumbprint, use the back of a teaspoon or a small melon baller to make the indents for the jam.
  • These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
