Ingredients
Scale
- 4–6 sausages (your choice of pork, chicken, or turkey sausage)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional for extra depth of flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the sausages: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook, turning occasionally, until they are browned and cooked through (about 10-12 minutes, depending on the size and type of sausage). Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the honey garlic glaze: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Add the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, Dijon mustard (if using), and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the glaze has thickened slightly.
- Coat the sausages: Return the sausages to the skillet and toss them in the honey garlic glaze, making sure they are evenly coated. Let the sausages cook in the glaze for an additional 2-3 minutes, until they are heated through and well-coated with the sauce.
- Serve and garnish: Remove the sausages from the skillet and place them on a serving platter. Pour any extra glaze from the skillet over the sausages. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a healthier option, use chicken or turkey sausages instead of pork.
- If you like a bit of heat, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce to the glaze.
- This dish pairs well with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a simple green salad.
- If you’re making this for a larger crowd, you can double the sauce and sausages to accommodate more servings.
- Leftover sausages can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
