Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup sriracha sauce (or more for extra heat)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for extra spice)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prep the Wings:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using frozen wings, ensure they are fully thawed. Pat the wings dry with paper towels to help them crisp up during baking.

  • Season the Wings:
Place the wings in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss to evenly coat the wings with the seasoning mixture.

  • Bake the Wings:
Arrange the wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden and crispy.

  • Make the Sweet and Spicy Sauce:
While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and lime juice. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly. If you like it spicier, add crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce.

  • Toss the Wings in Sauce:
Once the wings are cooked and crispy, remove them from the oven. Place the wings in a large bowl and pour the sweet and spicy sauce over the wings. Toss well to coat the wings in the sticky sauce.

  • Garnish and Serve:
Garnish the wings with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro if desired. Serve the wings with extra lime wedges and dipping sauces (like ranch or blue cheese) on the side.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking.
  • Adjust the amount of sriracha based on how spicy you like your wings. Add more for extra heat or reduce the amount for a milder version.

  • These wings can also be cooked in an air fryer. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, for a crispy texture.
