Sugared Cranberries

  • Author: Ellie
  • Total Time: 2 hours
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

Sugared Cranberries are a festive and sweet treat perfect for the holiday season. The cranberries are first coated in a sugary syrup and then rolled in more sugar, creating a sparkling, sweet-tart candy-like treat. They make a great garnish for holiday desserts, cocktails, or as a standalone snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the cranberries to the saucepan and stir until well coated.
  • Using a slotted spoon, remove the cranberries and place them on a wire rack to dry for about 1 hour.
  • Roll the cranberries in the remaining sugar until coated.
  • Let the cranberries dry for another hour before serving.

Notes

  • If you want to give the cranberries a more festive look, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or other spices to the sugar.
  • These sugared cranberries can be used to decorate cakes, pies, or even holiday drinks like cocktails or mocktails.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
