Description

These Sugar Cookie Truffles are the ultimate indulgence! They combine the sweet, buttery flavor of sugar cookies with a creamy filling and a smooth coating of white chocolate. Perfect for holiday treats or special occasions, these bite-sized desserts are sure to be a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 batch of homemade sugar cookies (or 1 package of sugar cookie mix)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips (or melting wafers)
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  • Prepare the sugar cookies:
If you’re making your own sugar cookies, bake them according to the recipe or package instructions and allow them to cool completely. If using store-bought cookies, simply crush them into fine crumbs.
  • Make the truffle mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, crumble the cooled sugar cookies into fine crumbs. Add the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is well incorporated and the dough comes together. The mixture should be thick but sticky enough to roll into balls.
  • Form the truffles:
Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls, placing them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Chill the truffles:
Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 30 minutes, or until the truffles are firm enough to dip in the chocolate.
  • Coat with white chocolate:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each truffle into the melted white chocolate, covering it completely. Tap off any excess chocolate and return the truffle to the parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  • Decorate the truffles:
While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle the truffles with colorful sprinkles if desired. Let them set for about 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
  • Serve and enjoy:
Once the chocolate coating is firm, serve the truffles or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • You can also dip the truffles in milk chocolate for a different flavor.
  • For a fun twist, try adding a hint of almond extract or cinnamon to the truffle mixture.
  • If you don’t have a microwave, you can melt the white chocolate on the stovetop using a double boiler.
