Description

A creamy and comforting seafood soup, served inside a warm, crusty bread bowl! This hearty dish is packed with a variety of seafood, vegetables, and rich cream, making it the perfect meal for a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Assorted seafood (shrimp, crab, clams, or scallops)
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks Celery, chopped
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 3 cups Seafood or chicken broth
  • 2 medium Potatoes, diced
  • 4 Crusty bread rolls or sourdough loaves
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the bread bowls: Hollow out the crusty bread rolls or sourdough loaves, leaving the outer crust intact to create a bowl. Set aside.
  • Cook the seafood: In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the seafood (shrimp, crab, clams, or scallops) and cook for 3-5 minutes until just cooked through. Remove the seafood and set aside.
  • Sauté vegetables: In the same pot, add the onion, garlic, and celery. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  • Add broth and potatoes: Pour in the seafood or chicken broth and add the diced potatoes. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
  • Add cream: Stir in the heavy cream and return the seafood to the pot. Let everything heat through for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  • Assemble: Spoon the seafood soup into the hollowed-out bread bowls and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can swap the seafood based on availability or personal preference.
  • For extra flavor, you can toast the bread bowls in the oven before serving.
  • If you prefer a thicker soup, you can mash some of the potatoes or use a cornstarch slurry to thicken it.
