2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
-
⅓ cup butter (melted)
-
1 tsp salt
-
4 cups all-purpose flour
-
2 large eggs
-
1 cup fresh strawberries (chopped)
For the Filling:

½ cup brown sugar
-
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
-
¼ cup butter (softened)
For the Cream Cheese Glaze:
-
4 oz cream cheese (softened)
-
1 cup powdered sugar
-
2 tbsp milk
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
A pinch of salt
Instructions
-
Prepare the dough:
In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Stir in the yeast and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until foamy. Add the melted butter, salt, and eggs. Gradually mix in the flour until the dough forms. Knead for about 8 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size. -
Prepare the filling:
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. -
Roll out the dough:
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick. -
Assemble the rolls:
Spread the softened butter over the dough. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the surface. Evenly distribute the chopped strawberries on top. -
Roll and slice:
Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other and cut it into 12 equal slices. -
Bake the rolls:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the cinnamon rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 20-30 minutes. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. -
Prepare the glaze:
While the rolls are baking, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt in a small bowl until smooth.
-
Finish the rolls:
Once the rolls are done, let them cool slightly before drizzling the cream cheese glaze over the top.
Notes
Fresh strawberries work best in this recipe, but you can also use frozen strawberries (thawed and drained) if fresh ones aren’t available.
The rolls can be assembled the night before and stored in the fridge. Let them rise before baking the next morning for a quick breakfast option.
To make them extra decadent, add a sprinkle of chopped pecans or walnuts to the filling.
