- 4 salmon fillets
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 1/4 cup sake
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- Green onions, chopped for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, garlic, and ginger.
- Marinate salmon fillets in the mixture for 30 minutes.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and sear the salmon fillets for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Pour the marinade over the salmon and let it simmer until thickened.
- Serve the salmon over steamed rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- For an extra boost of flavor, you can also brush some of the marinade on the salmon while it sears.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar in the marinade based on your preferred sweetness level.
- If you don’t have sake, you can substitute it with dry white wine or additional mirin.
