Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) thinly sliced ribeye steak or flank steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 large onion, sliced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup provolone cheese (or more mozzarella)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak and Veggies:
    • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers and sauté until softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
    • Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet and cook until the steak is browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
    • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, then remove from heat and set aside.
  • Prepare the Breadstick Dough:
    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
  • Assemble the Breadsticks:
    • Spread a layer of shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese over half of the dough.
    • Spoon the steak and veggie mixture evenly over the cheese.
    • Fold the dough over to cover the filling and pinch the edges to seal it.
    • Cut the filled dough into strips (about 8-10 depending on the size you want) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the Breadsticks:
    • Brush the top of the breadsticks with melted butter, then sprinkle with garlic powder and dried oregano.
    • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve:
    • Let the breadsticks cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for added color and flavor. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara or ranch dressing.

Notes

  • You can make these breadsticks ahead of time by assembling them and refrigerating them before baking. Just bake them as directed when you’re ready to serve.
  • If you want to make these spicier, add some sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the steak mixture.
  • For a lower-carb version, use a low-carb pizza dough or phyllo dough.
