Instructions
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter in it.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
- Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut the bread slices into heart shapes.
- Dip each heart-shaped bread slice into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well coated.
- Cook the bread in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the French toast from the skillet and set aside.
- Wipe the skillet clean, add the remaining butter, and cook any remaining slices.
- Serve the heart-shaped French toast with maple syrup, fresh berries, and a dusting of powdered sugar.
