Celebrate love with these adorable Heart-Shaped French Toast slices, perfect for Valentine’s Day breakfast! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with a drizzle of maple syrup, fresh berries, and a dusting of powdered sugar, this easy-to-make breakfast is a fun and delicious way to show someone you care.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of thick bread (such as brioche or challah)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Maple syrup, for serving
  • Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, etc.), for garnish
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter in it.
  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  • Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut the bread slices into heart shapes.
  • Dip each heart-shaped bread slice into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well coated.
  • Cook the bread in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the French toast from the skillet and set aside.
  • Wipe the skillet clean, add the remaining butter, and cook any remaining slices.
  • Serve the heart-shaped French toast with maple syrup, fresh berries, and a dusting of powdered sugar.

Notes

  • You can use any type of bread you prefer, but thick-cut bread like brioche or challah will give the best texture.
  • For an extra twist, you can add a dollop of whipped cream or a drizzle of chocolate syrup on top.
  • For a dairy-free option, use almond milk and a dairy-free butter substitute.
