Ingredients
Scale
For the Salmon Burgers:
- 1 lb fresh salmon, boneless, skinless, and cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon brown mustard (yellow mustard works too)
- 2 green onions, finely diced
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon capers, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons butter (salted or unsalted)
- 4 brioche buns
For the Lemon Dill Sauce:
- 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Salmon Patties:
- In a food processor, pulse the fresh salmon until it’s finely chopped but not pureed.
- Transfer to a large bowl and add the mustard, green onions, chopped dill, capers, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the panko breadcrumbs until everything is evenly combined.
- Form the Salmon Burgers:
- Divide the salmon mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Cook the Salmon Burgers:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Make the Lemon Dill Sauce:
- In a small bowl, combine the sour cream or Greek yogurt, lemon juice, fresh dill, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- Toast the brioche buns lightly in the skillet or oven.
- Spread the lemon dill sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked salmon patties on top, then top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve:
- Serve the salmon burgers immediately with a side of salad or your favorite fries.
Notes
- If you don’t have a food processor, you can finely chop the salmon by hand.
- You can substitute the brioche buns with whole wheat or gluten-free buns if preferred.
- The lemon dill sauce can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
