Ingredients
Scale
- 6 chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless, with or without skin)
- ¼ teaspoon salt (to season)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder (to season)
- 6 cloves garlic (crushed)
- ⅓ cup honey
- ¼ cup water or chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar (or any white vinegar)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- ¼ teaspoon pepper (to season)
Instructions
- Season the chicken thighs with salt, garlic powder, and pepper on both sides.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of oil. Once hot, add the chicken thighs and cook for 6-8 minutes per side until browned and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the crushed garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the honey, water (or chicken broth), rice wine vinegar (or apple cider vinegar), and soy sauce. Stir well to combine, and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Return the chicken thighs to the skillet and coat them in the honey garlic sauce. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken further and glaze the chicken.
- Serve hot with your favorite side dish and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the seasoning for 30 minutes before cooking.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
- Serve with steamed rice or roasted vegetables to complete the meal.
