Description

This Easy Honey Garlic Chicken is the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The chicken thighs are coated in a sticky, flavorful honey garlic sauce, making it a simple yet mouthwatering dish. Ready in just a few steps, this recipe is great for a weeknight dinner or impressing guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless, with or without skin)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (to season)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder (to season)
  • 6 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ¼ cup water or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar (or any white vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper (to season)

Instructions

  • Season the chicken thighs with salt, garlic powder, and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of oil. Once hot, add the chicken thighs and cook for 6-8 minutes per side until browned and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the crushed garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the honey, water (or chicken broth), rice wine vinegar (or apple cider vinegar), and soy sauce. Stir well to combine, and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  • Return the chicken thighs to the skillet and coat them in the honey garlic sauce. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken further and glaze the chicken.
  • Serve hot with your favorite side dish and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the seasoning for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
  • Serve with steamed rice or roasted vegetables to complete the meal.
