- 2 cups diced tomatoes (or 1 can)
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) baked beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the Ground Beef:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the lean ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Add Ingredients to the Crockpot:
- Transfer the browned ground beef to the crockpot. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, minced garlic, black beans, baked beans, chili powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir everything together until evenly combined.
- Cook in the Crockpot:
- Set the crockpot on low and cook for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours. Stir occasionally.
- Season and Serve:
- Before serving, taste the chili and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve hot, optionally topping with shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions.
Notes
- For extra heat, you can add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the chili.
