- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
- 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Fit one pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
- In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Spoon apple mixture into the pie crust.
- Place second pie crust over the filling. Trim, seal, and flute the edges.
- Cut slits in the top crust.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a tablespoon of butter on top of the apple filling before placing the top crust.
