Instructions

  • Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and peel (optional) the russet potatoes. Cut them into evenly sized fries, about ¼ inch thick. To ensure even cooking, try to make them as uniform as possible.

  • Soak the Potatoes: Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This step helps remove excess starch and makes them crispier when air-fried. After soaking, pat them dry thoroughly with a paper towel to ensure they are as dry as possible.

  • Season the Fries: Place the dried potato fries into a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika, and toss again to coat the fries evenly in the seasoning.

  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.

  • Air Fry the Fries: Arrange the seasoned potato fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring that they are not overcrowded. If needed, work in batches. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 18-22 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time for even crisping.
