Easter Egg Oreo Cookie Balls

  • Author: Ellie
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 48 egg-shaped balls
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A festive, no-bake treat made from crushed Oreo cookies and cream cheese, rolled into egg shapes, then dipped in chocolate and decorated with colorful candy melts or sprinkles to resemble adorable Easter eggs.

Ingredients

  • Oreo cookies

  • Cream cheese

  • White or milk chocolate (for coating)

  • Candy melts or colored chocolate (for decorating)

  • Sprinkles, edible glitter, or decorating gel

  • Food coloring (optional)

  • Coconut oil or shortening (optional, for thinning chocolate)

Instructions

  • Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse into fine crumbs. Add softened cream cheese and blend until a smooth, dough-like consistency forms.

  • Scoop out small amounts of the mixture and shape them into egg-like ovals using your hands. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • Refrigerate or freeze the shaped cookie balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  • Melt white or milk chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir in a bit of coconut oil or shortening if needed for smoother dipping.

  • Dip each egg into the melted chocolate using a fork, let excess drip off, and place on parchment. Before the coating sets, decorate with candy melts, sprinkles, or edible glitter.

  • Allow the dipped cookie balls to set completely at room temperature or in the fridge.

Notes

Use full-fat cream cheese for the best texture.

Crush Oreos finely for a smooth, uniform mixture.

Chill well before dipping to help maintain shape.

Use a fork or toothpick to help with dipping and minimize mess.

Decorate before the chocolate sets so sprinkles stick well.
