Ingredients
-
4 slices brioche or sourdough bread
-
4 oz brie cheese, thinly sliced
-
1 medium apple (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala), thinly sliced
-
2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
-
1½ tsp sugar
-
Optional: 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup, for drizzling
Instructions
-
Make Cinnamon Sugar Butter: In a small bowl, mix softened butter with cinnamon and sugar.
-
Prep Filling: Thinly slice the apple and brie for even melting and layering.
-
Assemble Sandwich: Spread cinnamon sugar butter on one side of each slice of bread. Layer brie and apple on the non-buttered side of two slices, then top with remaining slices (butter side out).
-
Grill: Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Grill each sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and cheese is melted.
-
Serve: Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, and slice. Optional: drizzle with honey or sprinkle extra cinnamon sugar.
Notes
Use a nonstick pan and cook on medium-low for even browning and melty cheese.
Don’t overload the sandwich to ensure even toasting.
For a dessert version, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Sharp knife helps clean slicing without squishing the sandwich.
