Description

Indulge in the comforting aroma and taste of freshly baked cinnamon rolls. Soft, fluffy dough swirled with a sweet cinnamon-sugar filling, all topped with a luscious cream cheese frosting. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet treat any time of day.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed

  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon

  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, softenedDelish

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2¼ cups powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:

    • Warm the milk to about 110°F (43°C). In a bowl, combine the warm milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy.

    • Add the eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the flour and salt to form a soft dough.

  • Knead and Rise:

    • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

  • Prepare the Filling:

    • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.

    • Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 16×24-inch rectangle. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.

  • Form the Rolls:

    • Starting from the long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log.

    • Slice the log into 12 equal pieces using a sharp knife or dental floss.Reddit

  • Second Rise:

    • Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let them rise for 30–45 minutes, or until puffy.

  • Bake:

    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.

  • Prepare the Frosting:

    • While the rolls are baking, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.

    • Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, beating until creamy.

  • Frost and Serve:

    • Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls. Serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure your yeast is fresh and active for the best rise.

For a richer flavor, let the dough rise overnight in the refrigerator and bake in the morning.

Feel free to add raisins or chopped nuts to the filling for added texture.
