- 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or sprinkles for coating
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just starts to simmer.
- Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl and pour the hot cream over it.
- Let it sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth and well combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Using a spoon or melon baller, scoop out small portions of the chocolate mixture and roll into balls.
- Roll the truffles in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or sprinkles to coat.
- Refrigerate until firm, then enjoy!
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can use bittersweet or dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
- Feel free to get creative with coatings – crushed peppermint, coconut flakes, or even melted chocolate can be used.
- These truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
