Description

Brownie Petit Fours are bite-sized confections that marry the fudgy decadence of brownies with the elegance of classic French petit fours. Topped with smooth ganache or colorful glaze and decorated with flair, these mini desserts are perfect for weddings, holidays, tea parties, or anytime you want to impress with a sophisticated treat. Dense, chocolatey, and easy to customize, they’re proof that big flavor can come in small packages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Brownies:

    • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

    • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

    • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

    • 4 large eggs

    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    • 1 cup all-purpose flour

    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Ganache Coating:

    • 1 cup heavy cream

    • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped

  • Optional Toppings:

    • Sprinkles

    • Edible glitter

    • Chopped nuts

    • Freeze-dried berries

    • Piped chocolate

    • Fondant or white chocolate (alternative coatings)

Instructions

  1. Bake the Brownies:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper. Melt butter and mix with cocoa powder and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, then stir in flour and salt. Spread batter in pan and bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.

  2. Chill and Cut:
Refrigerate cooled brownies for 1 hour. Trim edges and cut into 1–1.5 inch squares.

  3. Make the Ganache:
Heat cream until steaming. Pour over chopped chocolate, let sit 1 minute, then stir until smooth. Let cool slightly.

  4. Coat Brownies:
Place brownie squares on a wire rack over a tray. Pour or spoon ganache over each piece to coat evenly. Alternatively, dip in melted fondant or chocolate.

  5. Decorate:
Before ganache sets, add toppings of your choice. Let set at room temp or briefly refrigerate to firm.

Notes

Chill brownies for clean slicing.

For a polished finish, use a skewer or fork to lift pieces while coating.

Store in a cool, dry place—not the fridge—for best texture and shine.
