Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken wings
- ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- ¼ cup Buffalo hot sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Sliced green onion (optional, for garnish)
- Ranch dressing (optional, for dipping)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken Wings: Toss the chicken wings with kosher salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, Buffalo hot sauce, and brown sugar until well combined.
- Slow Cook: Place the seasoned chicken wings into the crockpot and pour half of the sauce mixture over them. Reserve the remaining sauce for later.
- Cook: Cover and cook the wings on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the wings are cooked through and tender.
- Broil for Crispiness: Preheat the oven broiler to high and set an oven rack in the top third of the oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare for Broiling: Place the wings on the prepared baking sheet and brush them with olive oil. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the wings are browned and crispy.
- Add More Sauce: Brush the wings with some of the reserved sauce and broil again for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve: Sprinkle with chopped green onions (optional) and serve with ranch dressing and the remaining BBQ sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Customization: You can adjust the level of spice by adding more or less Buffalo sauce depending on your preference.
- Storage Tips: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
- Serving Suggestions: Serve these wings with a side of celery sticks or a fresh salad for a well-rounded meal.
