These Crock Pot Chicken Wings are an easy and flavorful way to enjoy crispy, saucy wings without the hassle. Slow-cooked to tender perfection, then finished off in the oven for that irresistible crispy texture. Perfect for game day or a quick weeknight treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken wings
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup Buffalo hot sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Sliced green onion (optional, for garnish)
  • Ranch dressing (optional, for dipping)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken Wings: Toss the chicken wings with kosher salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, Buffalo hot sauce, and brown sugar until well combined.
  • Slow Cook: Place the seasoned chicken wings into the crockpot and pour half of the sauce mixture over them. Reserve the remaining sauce for later.
  • Cook: Cover and cook the wings on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the wings are cooked through and tender.
  • Broil for Crispiness: Preheat the oven broiler to high and set an oven rack in the top third of the oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare for Broiling: Place the wings on the prepared baking sheet and brush them with olive oil. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the wings are browned and crispy.
  • Add More Sauce: Brush the wings with some of the reserved sauce and broil again for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve: Sprinkle with chopped green onions (optional) and serve with ranch dressing and the remaining BBQ sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Customization: You can adjust the level of spice by adding more or less Buffalo sauce depending on your preference.
  • Storage Tips: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve these wings with a side of celery sticks or a fresh salad for a well-rounded meal.
