Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in chopped walnuts if desired.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the frosting, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Once the cake has cooled completely, spread the frosting over the top and serve.

- If you prefer a less sweet frosting, you can reduce the amount of powdered sugar.
