Description

Apple Pie Bombs are bite-sized versions of classic apple pie, bursting with warm, cinnamon-spiced filling wrapped in golden biscuit or crescent dough. Whether baked or fried, these gooey treats are easy to make and perfect for parties, potlucks, or cozy nights in. With a crispy exterior and sweet, tender center, they’re the ultimate shortcut dessert that still delivers nostalgic homemade flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough or crescent roll dough (8 pieces)

  • 1 cup apple pie filling (chopped into small pieces)

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • Optional: Caramel sauce, powdered sugar for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat:

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C) if frying.

  • Prepare Dough:

    • Flatten each biscuit or dough section into a 3–4 inch circle.

  • Add Filling:

    • Place about 1 tablespoon of chopped apple pie filling in the center of each dough circle.

  • Seal Bombs:

    • Pinch edges together tightly to seal, then roll gently into a smooth ball.

  • Bake or Fry:

    • To bake: Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.

    • To fry: Carefully fry in hot oil for 2–3 minutes until golden brown on all sides. Drain on paper towels.

  • Coat in Cinnamon Sugar:

    • While still warm, brush with melted butter and roll in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.

  • Serve Warm:

    • Drizzle with caramel sauce or dust with powdered sugar if desired

Notes

Chop apple pie filling finely for easier sealing.

Avoid overfilling to prevent leakage during baking or frying.

Crescent roll dough gives a flakier result, while biscuit dough yields a soft, puffy bite.

Use a muffin tin to help bombs keep their shape while baking.

For homemade filling, sauté chopped apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
